(The SETS and COSTUMES are red, white, and blue, in the American Flag Motif.  This musical has been called a “patriotic, American Fiddler on the Roof.  Sometimes the CAST dances with American flags.)

In the 1940s, in a Manhattan Broadway Theatre, President Franklin D. Roosevelt decided to sing and dance an “End of the War” Ceremony (to appease a bunch of New York City Jews who haven’t made Broadway), with several Jews, and a Piano Player, on an upcoming New Years’ Day.

But the psychotic Piano Player (HANS) plants explosives in his piano, to blow up whenever THEY sing and dance!

FRANKLIN comically proposes to his girlfriend ELEANOR, with whom he’s in love.  AARON (a famous Theatrical Producer) proposes to EVE, and stops her from shooting the explosives.

The LADIES decide to love their MEN, in dance.

ISAAC (a waiter) proposes to VIRGE (a waitress, who doesn’t talk, only makes animal sounds and sings and dances for us all evening!).

The Big Night arrives, and HANS’ schizophrenia rears its ugly head, and he pulls a gun on everyone, forcing them to sing and dance. THUNDER. FLASHING LIGHTS. The CAST collapses onstage while singing and dancing, and is dragged off by STAGEHANDS. CURTAIN.  INTERMISSION.

After the CURTAIN rises for Act II, RABBI MOSES musically revives everyone with “wonderful, magical Jewish music,” and FRANKLIN and ELEANOR have also become Jews!  The RABBI says that some rich New Yorkers are putting on a Broadway show that calls for New York Jews!  The War is over, and everything is saved.

In II.3., the MEN (on one side of the STAGE) propose musically to the LADIES (on the other side).  The LADIES (with a butterfly net) chase the MEN around onstage, and optionally through the AUDIENCE, on out the back door of the Theatre.

In II.4., there is a three-sentence Wedding Ceremony for all four love couples, performed by RABBI MOSES.

The CAST sings and dances the Reprises at the end of the show.
